  Pure Bacterial Simulant Cultures

BRT specializes in the production of bulk liquid bacterial cultures, in volumes from 50 to 50,000 US Gallons.

  Mobile Laboratory Design Services

BRT will aid in floorplan design and equipment lists for both analytical and biological mobile laboratories. Logistical support and fabrication services are also available on a custom basis.

  Biological and Chemical Agent Simulant Testing

BRT SPD can custom tailor laboratory experiments and benchtop studies utilizing military-approved simulant agents.

  Disinfectant Efficacy Studies

The BRT SPD staff is experienced in the design and execution of studies used to measure the improvement of new disinfectants over conventional formulas.

  Bioaerosol Studies

Bioaerosol studies are available on a custom basis to suit our clients’ individual requirements.

  Contract Research

Companies, which have special project needs, should contact BRT SPD for a project-specific proposal.

Project Experience

The SPD staff has performed contract research examining disinfectant efficacy versus Foot and Mouth Disease and Swine Vesicular Disease at the USDA Plum Island Animal Disease Center. The staff has also prepared pure cultures of Bacillus thuringiensis for use in Anthrax simulant tests. SPD staff used these same cultures in benchtop disinfectant efficacy studies conducted for the Air Force Operational Test and Evaluation Center (AFOTEC).

The SPD has also performed contract research with scientists from the Former Soviet Union’s Vector Laboratory in Novosibirsk, Koltsovo. This research involved the rapid detection of disease-infected erythrocytes in a Non-Uniform Alternating Electrical Field (NUAEF).
